Beauty Tip No. 6: One-Minute Breath

 

A simple meditation that can be done almost anywhere, the One Minute Breath is known to dramatically reduce stress, anxiety, and the emotions that cause our hormones (and thus our skin) to go out of balance. In Chinese Medicine, the Lungs and breathing are connected to the skin, so using meditations with breath-work can help to heal skin imbalances and make it glow.

 

How To Do It: 

Sit in a comfortable upright position.

Bring the index finger and the thumb together to touch, and close your eyes.

Take 20 seconds to inhale, hold for 20 seconds, and exhale for 20 seconds.

If the 20:20:20 ratio is too challenging you can start with inhale for 5 seconds, hold for 5 seconds, exhale for 5 seconds. Do this first for a few days then build up to 10:10:10, then 15:15:15, until you can do 20:20:20

Continue for three minutes

 

Take this practice into the New Year by practicing this breath for three minutes a day and watch the changes unfold! It's said to renew your body, mind, and spirit on every level to make you vibrate with health and radiance.
